To my Miraculous readers,

Since the show has more seasons and more characters long after I wrote the fanfic Akumatized Riff Tide, before Luka’s first akumatization, I’m considering doing a rewrite of the story. The original will remain posted, I’m just considering an updated version.

Imagine being so insecure about ur ship knowing it's just a heterosexual basic, boring, baseless, bland ship. So then u have to ruin others happiness just so u can feel good abt ur crappy ship.

Originally, I wrote a full rant/rambles about how I strongly agree with this but you know what?

I don't care at all about canon anymore and I don't want to salt much either, so I'm keeping it very short:

YES, these are some of the reasons I dislike/hate the LS. And YES, I'm tired of the hate Lukanette gets for nothing (I could go on and on about this topic but I won't).

Honestly, I don't want to comment on canon anymore (I'm not watching the show and I hate it- it's so much CRINGE to me), so I don't think I'll be answering any more asks regarding it.

All I want is to freely enjoy our little Pro Lukanette / Pro LukaMari bubble and the (fan) content. That's all.

Well, I didn't mean that Adrigami shippers are toxic, but that Gabi and Tomoe do very similar things that I've seen in some fandoms, especially from "pro-shippers". It's mostly about how these two impose their personal desires and feelings on their children, convincing themselves that it's what's best for them (and in Gabi's case, what his son and wife would want) when it's pure their personal desires. Although Gabi will die, I hope. But will Tomoe somehow escape the consequences? As for Adrigami, I don't mean to be salty, but why do all the ships with Adrien was made to be antagonistic to Marinette? Adrien's only crush turned out to be a misunderstanding to show Marinette's growth. I hope that after the 5th season it will not be like that (although there's also Lila, who tried to win Adrien as a prize by helping Gabi until he let her know she wouldn't get anything)

Yeah I know what you mean. Like I said I don't know how Gabriel can set up an arranged marriage for his son with his full confident chest when he literally stole a woman from living a similar fate. "Marinette isn't good enough for you" coming from the man who bagged a billionaire when he had nothing then lived with her in a studio on a mattress. Like sir???? The fuck??

And like sure rich people eugenics, whatever, but if that's the backstory they wanted to go with for Gabriel and Emilie um idk maybe like don't go for rich people eugenics? Just a thought.

I really hope he dies in the finale. Like I do not wish to see him in the show moving forward. We all know Gorilla is his real dad anyway.

Se feligami acontecesse se Adrigami não tivesse acontecido, você teria uma opinião diferente de agora?

Myvan e Alyno realmente aconteceram rápido demais, e apenas por curiosidade qual a orientação sexual dos seus personagens? Tipo: vejo muita discussão sobre headcanons, como Kagami ser lésbica, BI, pan ou hétero. Luka sendo BI e etc.

Meu minha opinião é que Marinette, Ivan, Félix e Kagami deveriam ser Demissexuais, faz mais sentido do que tacar um romance rápido e barato para cima deles.

A minha opinião sobre o casal funcionar com ctz mudaria, mas a minha opinião sobre a execução ter sido péssima continuaria a mesma. E eles teriam que desenvolver bem mais, já que a Kagami teria que superar dentro do próprio relacionamento (sem terminar) o conceito de "não dá pra vc namorar alguém perfeito", e teriam que seguir com o que deram a entender que seguiriam lá em "Gabriel agreste" qnd a kagami e o Félix trocaram uns olhares bravos um com o outro- só seria legal se inicialmente a relação dos dois fosse turbulenta e desenvolvessem gradualmente SEM ignorar as coisas ruins que aconteceriam entre os dois (especialmente as ações do Félix)

Sobre sexualidade, prefiro deixar aberto pra headcanon mesmo, até pra caso eu decida fazer alguma mudança de última hora. Então na prática acho que a maioria seria multi mesmo, mas gosto do headcanon da kagami e Félix Demi (basicamente tenho meus HCs internos mas não vou chegar a confirmar e acho mais legal deixar aberto pro pessoal também ter HC)

Adrigami Week - Day 4 “Secret dating”

Ooh, just curious but have you seen the Miraculous New York special? Was kinda wondering what your thoughts on it were if you’ve seen it :o

I told myself I wouldn’t watch it, but I did.

First of all, with Lukanette being supposedly canon, this is a slap to the face to the shippers. Umm yeah, no. With that in mind, I immediately hated the idea of the special. Granted the first scene with the two was especially precious. That was legit one of the only scenes I liked, aside from Adrigami. (And with Marinette chasing Adrien in the rain and proclaiming her undying love for him, though she clearly couldn’t reach him, talk about a very disloyal girlfriend. Honestly, if it’s true, I feel for the poor guy. :( Luka’s nothing but a precious sweetie who deserves to be loved and protected. With this in mind, I doubt Mari could give it to him in canon.)

Secondly, the overwhelming amount of Adrienette just disgusted me to no end. -_- Like it’s still a strong NOTP and Marinette’s continuous obsession with him in this special despite her failure with maintaining the whole “he’s just a friend”? Move on, Mari!

I also lost all sense of respect for Nino and Alya as well as the new girls, for trying to set “Adrienette” up. It was annoying, not to mention turned out to be quite dangerous. Heroes or not, the new girls weren’t enjoyable in the least to me.

The Love Square once again proves itself to be the most unhealthy relationship in the whole fandom. I just can’t with it. The more one tries to force them together, the more the couple shows itself to be a horrible idea.

All in all, there were just so many annoyances in this special, I couldn’t think of any positives aside from the Lukanette/Adrigami moments.

The Adrigami Breakup Was Hot Garbage.

This is the episode where Adrien and Kagami break up. The reason why they broke up is because Adrien is Cat Noir and will always have to hide things from Kagami, and she's not having it. It's an episode about how the job of a superhero demands sacrifices, about how Adrien lost his girlfriend to his duties.

But this entire thing falls apart due to both Adrien and Kagami acting from out of character to infuriating. Adrien isn't actually shown to face these struggles as Cat Noir. We don't see him "being a responsible superhero" he's just goofing around and getting Ladybug's attention.

Adrien: Finally! Free at last! Plagg, claws out!

And here when Ladybug doesn't show up to their daily patrol:

AdriCat: So, Mr. Banana! Life's peachy, huh? *gets ignored*Peachy? Banana? Get it?.. Forget it.

AdriCat: So! Mr. Ramier! It's been a while since you were akumatized, right? Kinda miss being Mr. Pigeon? You haven't been feeling depressed? Or desperate? Or angry? Annoyed maybe? Not even a little perturbe?

Mr. Ramier: Thank you for asking Cat Noir but I am in the best of spirits, really!

This is the face Adriem makes after he says he's feeling good and isn't gonna get akumatized:

AdriCat (disappointendly): Well I guess I'm out of here then.

Mr. Ramier: Say hello to the lovely Ladybug for me!

AdriCat: Sure thing! If I ever see her.

Literally, this entire first act is establishing that Cat Noir is sad and lonely without Ladybug to the point where he wants people to get akumatized. Like go back and watch the episode this is insane.

Only after that we get to Kagami. And the relationship is.. off. Kagami lies to both their parents to buy her and Adrien time alone in the art room. She asks him to pose for a sketch, he makes a couple model poses, and the bullshit begins.

Kagami: These are all modeling poses. Try something that's more neutral, more you.

Adrien: What about – meow! *Makes a Cat pose* I mean, now? *nervous chuckle*

Kagami: No. You're not at all neutral.

Adrien: Yes I am, I promise. This is me.

Kagami (intensively): No. That's you when you're being silly.

She's downright rejecting his true self and being a control freak. Where did this come from? They used to crack jokes and have genuine fun together (ie Desperada). This is extremely out of character. But it's not over..

Adrien: What if when I'm being silly, I'm really me?

Kagami: *Gets up closer to gently make him pose*

Adrien's expression is.. um-..

Kagami: There. This, is really you.

Adrien: Do you really think..

Kagami: Yes. You're... perfect. *Leans for a kiss*

What does this scene tell us about their relationship? It tells us that it's toxic, that Kagami is controlling, doesn't care for Adrien's boudries and refuses to see who he really is. Which as I mentioned, goes against her characterization in previous episodes.

After whatever that was Adrien keeps getting called to his duity as Cat Noir. This back and forth continues for a while. But as we established, it's not a meaingful sacrifice to leave Kagami because being a superhero is just professional (and not so proffesional) playtime for him. And the episode keeps on reminding you that all throughout. We cut from Kagami being alone at a party they were supposed to go to together, to this:

AdriCat: Ma'lady, it's been a while since I had this much fun.

Ladybug: *Laughs* If battling a super villian with 3 eyes and a giant monster budy is your idea of fun, I can't imagen what your other days are like.

And in the same conversation:

AdriCat: You can count on me, and my jokes, Bugaboo!

Ladybug: Well, you don't have to over-do it.

AdriCat: The truth is, I only ever have this much fun when I'm with you.

And then he comes back straight to Kagami like nothing's wrong. She confronts him about his lies to her and gets akumatized.

Even when he fights Akumatized Kagami to save her, they still make a point at showing you he's having fun.

AdriCat: I can't wait to see what you're gonna do with a drone.

And his reaction after Ladybug confronts him about sacrificing himself:

Ladybug: Seriously you've got to stop doing this to me!

AdriCat: Yeah, but I can't resist this angry little pout of yours when you bring me back.

Excuse me?

And then, I am not kidding, while still being with Kagami, this happens:

Adrien: *Stares into the sky* Oh, Ladybug...

Plagg: Aww how romantic! I get it, even if I do love every cheese on the plate, I always come back for my favorite.

After fencing class they have the conversation. The break up is caused by Kagami not being not being able to trust Adrien. And this is how thw show, including Adrien himself, frames it too.

AdriCat: You know the difference between us and the rest of the world, ma'lady? We can't be completely honest with each other. We keep secrets, and sometimes we have to lie.

Okay, let's sum everything up:

He emotionally cheats on Kagami and is willing to admit it out loud with no shame.

He loves that subject of infatuation so much to the point where he's openly sad about monsters not attacking Paris.

Shows no remorse to leaving his girlfriend every time they are together, and very explicitly enjoys his time with another girl he's in love with.

At the end of the episode him and the writers push all the bs under the rug and claim Adrien is just following his duties.

....Wow. I remembered Lies being a terrible episode for Adrien but it wasn't until I watched it again that I've realized how much Adrien sucks. I am trurly baffled. Top tier character assassination.

And let's not forget Kagami. What the hell was that? Why did she act like that? Why all the sudden she's toxic and controlling?

Well, all of this nonsense is done to serve a very obvious not-so-hidden hidden agenda: Ladynoir good, Adrigami bad. The writers pretended to tell a genuine story about the duties of being a superhero but couldn't help but sneak in this horseshit. They essentially wanted you to subconciously pick up on what this episode is really trying to say: Kagami doesn't know Adrien's true self, she forces him into the "perfect role" and is incompatible to him. While Ladybug knows his true self. Therefore, Adrien can only be happy with Ladybug.

Kagami isn't controlling and incompatible to him. But that didn't matter to the writers, they have a message to put out. They had retcon her characterization to create a contrast that didn't really exist.

And this applies to Adrien too. He needed to be happy to leave his girlfriend to push the... "message". He needed to emotionally cheat on her like he did to push the message. He sacrificed himself so it would show his so-called love for Ladybug. He wanted people to get akumatized so he could be his true self with his beloved Ladybug. But all of these things don't make him to be compatible with her and destined to be with her, they make him an a$$hole.

And I'm not gonna buy into this message they snuck in there with retcons and infuriating behaviors.

I'm relatively sure that if Lukanette was kept intact a lot of the Season 4 problems would have been sidestepped. Including that disaster of a finale. (This also works for Marigami as well but they wouldn't have the balls to show that power duo.)

And you know what? I’ve had some other things on my mind in regards to that last post, so I’m going to go off here.

No one shipped Lukanette or Adrigami thinking we’d be endgame. I’ve seen maybe one take that argued “hey, maybe the rival ships have a chance at being endgame” but I’m pretty sure it was half-joking. But even if it wasn’t, it’s a drop in the bucket, and most rival shippers have already accepted the inevitable - that the Love Square is endgame. The writing is on the wall. Canon and fanon are on the Love Sqaure’s side. Don’t believe me?

So Ao3 has almost 43,000 works listed under Miraculous Ladybug. So let’s break down the number of Love Square fics. For this, I’ll start by filtering to include the Love Square relationship tag (labelled “ Adrien Agreste | Chat Noir/Marinette Dupain-Cheng | Ladybug “)

Yeah. That’s nearly 25,000 works, or nearly 60%, just including that tag. Now, obviously this doesn’t take into account other Marinette or Adrien relationship tags. So let’s now eliminate fics that would be tagged for Lukanette (labelled “ Luka Couffaine/Marinette Dupain-Cheng | Ladybug “) and Adrigami (labelled “ Adrien Agreste | Chat Noir/Kagami Tsurugi “)

So we’ve lost maybe 1,000 fics, that drops us down to approximately 56% of total fics for Ao3. That’s still the vast majority.

So how about the other way around. How many Lukanette fics are there?

A little over 2,000. And how many of those don’t include the Love Square tag?

Not even 1,500. Not even 1,500. 

And naturally, the statistics are even worse for Adrigami.

Not even 1,000. And that’s before we’ve eliminated the Love Square tag!

That’s over 40% of the Adrigami works eliminated. 

Now, obviously there are other Marinette and Adrien ships that I could have eliminated from my searches, but we’re not talking about those ships because we’re not arguing about those.

We’re here because I want to reiterate my main point:

The Love Square already has everything. It was endgame back when the show started, it remained endgame even when the mains got other love interests, and it will continue to be endgame as the show continues airing. The creators have basically stated it outright, the show continues to make it obvious as the light of day (why do you think episodes like Oblivio and Chat Blanc exist?) and even when rivals are introduced, they are eliminated rather quickly. Luka and Kagami lasted the longest compared to Nathaniel, Nino, Chloe and Lila, but even they barely got a couple of episodes to be in a real relationship before they were broken up with. HELL, Marinete and Adrien still had ship tease during a special where they were supposed to be dating their respective love interests.

Lukanette and Adrigami have never been a proper threat to the endgame status of Love Square. Despite the attraction Marinette clearly had for Luka:

Or how Adrien clearly enjoys spending time with Kagami:

We all knew where it was going to go. 

So why is that all of that not enough? Why do we now need to sit here and argue that Marinette and Adrien never liked Luka and Kagami in the first place? I’m not talking about whether or not they were in love with them or if they liked them the most out of their love interests - I mean, why do we need to argue over whether there were any feelings at all as though it contradicts the existence of the Love Square? It clearly doesn’t, never had, nor never will. 

Them having feelings for other people isn’t a threat to your ship. Your ship was never threatened. So why do we need to eliminate the little the rivals had in the first place?

Você falou de um ponto bem importante sobre a Kagami, já que além de ter acontecido rápido demais, é a cópia de seu ex namorado (primos-gemeos). Mas Myvan também aconteceu rápido, e não vejo muita coisa sendo falado. Qual sua opinião sobre esse casal?

E sobre a Kagami com quem você acha que ela deveria ficar? Zoe? Luka?

E você falando que manteria os casais canônicos, mas considerando qual temporada? 3? 4? 5? Por que na terceira temos o meu amado Lukanette e Adrigami.

Por falar nisso, na sua história, é Kyoko ou Kagami?

Também acho que Mylene e Ivan aconteceu rápido demais, por isso se eu for refazer coração de pedra da forma em que acontece originalmente, eles não vão começar a namorar no mesmo EP. Mas a diferença deles pra Feligami é que eles são personagens que no geral não são muito relevantes pra história, já os feligami são MUITO importantes e envolvidos na narrativa como personagens, por isso no fim das contas o impacto disso ser rushado é muito maior. Acho alyno também muito rápido por exemplo, e acho que o filme conseguiu estabelecer bem melhor um background pro casal se desenvolver no futuro. E também acho marcaniel rushado, considerando que a primeira interação entre os dois envolveu o Nathaniel sendo ultra babaca com o Marc. Em resumo, os únicos casais que eu não acho rushados são justamente os que aconteceram off screen (Ondine e Kim, Rose e Juleka) kkkkk

Acho que mencionei num post anterior sobre cogitar colocar Zoegami na AU, mas até então é só uma ideia que pode facilmente mudar. Lukagami eu já não curto pq sinto muito que é um shipp que surgiu de "ah, os ex dos protagonista tão sem par, e se eles ficassem juntos?" E eu não acho que o Luka adicionaria muito num relacionamento romântico com a Kagami (mas, dizendo respeito a amizade, definitivamente vamos ver os dois unidos em certo ponto). No geral é tudo muito vago e eu só vou ter certeza bemmm depois, quando já tiver definido boa parte dos arcos de personagem dos outros.

E bom, eu consideraria as temporadas todas num geral mesmo, e adrigami e lukanette vão sim acontecer, mas meio que vai ser uma prévia pra todos os 4 se desenvolverem e entenderem mais sobre relacionamentos. Igual a série, vai rolar mas não como endgame, só que no caso o amor vai ser realmente mútuo né

No geral vou chamar de Kagami mesmo, mass como estou pensando em fazer uma versão em português e outra em inglês (isso se eu chegar até esse ponto e tiver saco pra fazer isso), se pá na versão em português eu vou manter o Kyoko. Só sei que em inglês definitivamente vai continuar Kagami
